The Stories

The Journey between home and hospital is a collection of stories told by six people who have survived cancer. They tell of their experiences, their thoughts and feelings, and describe how cancer has changed their lives. Through pictures and sound, the stories, convey the strength of human spirit over adversity.

The support provided by the Y Filltir Sgwâr team has been valuable for patients, families and staff at the Tŷ Geraint Palliative Care Resource Centre. As the 3 year Lottery project is coming to an end, the team are making plans to continue it’s services at Tŷ Geraint. Watch the movie

Integrated Health Awards

Homeground is one of 24 projects that have been included in the shortlisted for the Integrated Health Awards 2008. We are looking forward to meeting the assessors when they visit the project at Tŷ Geraint in March. Production history

Filmmaker and Media Artist Richard Urbanski came together with Gudrun Jones, Art Therapist at Y Filltir Sgwâr to develop the storytelling project Between Home and Hospital. What you see is a collection of stories that have been produced for this website and a pilot DVD. This is very much a first stage in a journey and we are developing the storytelling project to include more contributions from patients and their families. We are currently seeking funding to continue Between Home and Hospital and would welcome support from potential collaborators.
